Located
on the corner of Broadway and 36th Street in Astoria, the Quinn Memorial
Building has been home to Thomas M. Quinn & Sons Inc. for over 40
years. Built in 1924 for Consolidation of Edison of N.Y. (Con Ed) the
four story brick and sandstone landmark served as the power company's
Queens headquarters for over 30 years. During the Second World War the
U.S. Government leased the fourth floor for use as an Armed Forces Induction
Center. |

The
Quinn family purchased the building in 1958 and had it completely redesigned.
After years of work, it's doors were opened as the largest funeral home
of it's kind in the country. Since the building has been home to Thomas
M. Quinn & Sons Inc. it has undergone many facelifts over the years
to best meet the needs of the families we serve. Among the unique features
in the 40,000 square foot Quinn Memorial Building are eight reposing rooms
of various sizes and decor, large men's & ladies restrooms on each
floor, A.D.A. facilities and spacious lobbies on each floor. Our location
also houses two elegant casket and cremation selection rooms, a florist
shop, and reception lounge. Two elevators and a grand staircase open into
the building's main lobby with it's 20 foot ceilings. | |
The Quinn Memorial Building also contains newly decorated arrangement rooms, management and staff offices, complete funeral preparation rooms, providing a safe and up-to-date working environment for our staff. The fourth floor of the building houses a large function and meeting
space where several local & civic organizations meet regularly. Our
